Kumpul - Kumpul KaSSanDe Unair 2007

Starting from a post on a group of facebook by Uni. Yeah, Uni became the one who initiated the gathering. She said that she missed so much and wanted to meet all members of KaSSanDe’07 in the near future. Of course, the comments from other friends that consist of 32 would-be scholars from various faculties would flow one by one. But, there was one thing could impede this agenda. What? That was financial matter. All of friends grumbled because of lacking of money. I knew it because since the stipend transferred by Kemenag was decided to become once in three months. So, the spending of some friends was uncontrollable. That’s why, it’s better if the agenda to gather together was delayed till April. Why? because, money is going to flow again at that month.

But, as usual, my friend, whose name is amy broke the barrier and proposed that I should make the gathering come true by sponsoring the things needed, Amy insisted on demanding such thing since I already got a notebook from kemenag as an appreciation for my achievements during two years in University, hehehe. At first, of course I was getting speechless, I didn’t know what comment I should write to tackle her proposal, wkwkwk. In short, I agreed to provide some money to support our gathering. It’s not big deal I think, only 100 thousands rupiah.  Amy bore the consumption matter and was ready to handle it as soon as I transferred the money promised.

Okay, after several days ignoring her short message that asked me to send the money, finally, the fund went to her account immediately. I asked her bank account number, I entered the ATM room and then everything was gonna be easy and finished. The discussion still occured in the group. First, it’s about the timing. We are as students in the final semester have very busy schedule. It’s hard to select the good time to make all of us could gather. Amy proposed that it would be nice if the gathering date was the same as Ershad’s birthday. So, he will treat us, etc. But, thingking about that, it was concluded that the gathering date should be accelerated . it would be too long if we should wait until the end of march. In short, the date was decided on 19th march 2011. Amy was prepared to provide rujak, while mbak zahro and uyun were willing to bring carpets. And the last, Uni. Yeah, she also carried a ready-made and hand-made pudding for our appetizer and digital camera for the most awaited narcissistic session. Hehehe.

The day was coming. I came late because of oversleeping, wkwkwk. I was awake quickly and then took a bath in hurry, I rode my motorcycle and speeded up to the gathering spot. So many things to be discussed and talked there. From living cost that will be stopped in july, so june is the last stipend for us. Huaaaaa... Graduation ceremony held in april that is going to be attended by all members of KD’07. IsnyaAllah, Final assignment (mini thesis) that is positively financed by kemenag (it’s an amusing news), farewell party planned to be conducted in november by our juniors, and other activities arranged by KD'09 and '10 that expect us to attend and enjoy ourselves.

The main agenda was coming, that’s eating. The abundant volume of Rujak had been prepared and ready to be consumed. The eating becomes more comfortable because of ufo, ershad and I began a discussion with some topics, ufo discussed with me about his plan after graduating from faculty of dentistry to practice his knowledge and experience derived, he wants to dedicate his expertise as a dentist in pondok pesantren during the dedication period (it’s three years). He has a plan to make a program such as insurance for teeth but based on sharia principles. So that’s why he wanted to consult with me because he knows that I was formerly active in AcSES, the organization of islamic economics studies in FEB Unair. He hoped that I can help him to explain about the islamic insurance concept. It doesn’t matter for me, I promised him that I’m going to lay out it, so he can get a better comprehension regarding it and enlarge his idea whether to modify the mechanism of sharia insurance (life and general) to be focused on teeth. His idea is brilliant, I thought. Beside that, I also had a chat with ershad about football business. More familiar called FUTSAL because of its characteristics that use smaller field compared with ordinary football match. He thought that this kind of business (rental) will be very promising and profitable, moreover if we can get a strategic venue for the field to lure more customers. Of course, we can get a lot of revenues if we begin that lucrative business.

The eating session is over, continued to the photo session, of course it’s also the main agenda of gathering, hehehe. It could eternalize the unforgettable moment for us. Whenever and wherever we miss the togetherness, just open the files of our photos in the notebook. So the old memories will crop up again easily. Many backgrounds were used to express our addiction of taking pictures, from the garden beside the pool (even taking pictures from the trees), in front of the management office of our campus, the bridge located in the middle of the pool, in front of the statue of Prabu Airlangga, etc. Many spots were exploited by us.

And not forget, for the closing seremony of our gathering. Based on the wily idea from Tje, he previously whispered to all male members of KD’07 in order to concur with his idea. Yeah, because we seldom gather together like this moment, we didn’t want to miss the chance to throw ershad into the lake. Moreover, his birthday is in upcoming the end of march. And Tje thought that we uncertainly have an opportunity to meet and joke together. So, the incident of release of “male mermaid” was done successfully by us, hahaha. Ershad was getting wet.

Baru Tahu IDX

Today, I got a new experience. Because I was going to attend a stock exchange simulation held by student association of management. As usual, I cropped up to be a late comer, what I did was not wrong, because it could be estimated and predicted that being late was the characteristics of FEB Unair students’ events. Without considering whether to conduct an event at regional, national or even international level. Being late can’t be ignored. It’s deeply suitable. Being on time is a something “never to see”. A miracle. Hopefully it could be eradicated immediately.

My decision was correct. Extremely correct. Although I came late more than an hour but the workshop was still not begun yet. How boring I was if I came on scheduled time. Waiting for the kick-off the event . oh No. Previously, I was almost misleaded to search the venue. Even though I myself was born and live in surabaya, but till now I can’t fully memorize the streets and places in surabaya well. My friends from oustside of this city often know more than me. Hehe. Because of that, if I want to go to the new places in Surabaya, it’s better for me to ask my friend(s) to accompany, otherwise, it will be time-consuming for me to explore the adress searched. I looked for the IDX building. The committee said that it’s close to the police office in TP mall. Well, I rode my motorcycle as saw right and left sides whether I found the place, yeah, I found it. But, I overpassed, because the distance was not rather far away, I thought it’s better not to take on motorcycle and just walked on the shoulder of the road, it’s for about one hundred meters. I came, I put my motorcycle into the parking area. Preparing myself, and I entered the arena.

The first session began, it’s about the overview, role, benefit etc regarding indonesia stock exchange. According to me, this kind of topic was very familiar because as a business student I have already got it from the subject taught by my lecturers. But, it’s rather different, it’s because the explanation came from the practicians that usually know more about the practical matters. While in campus, I got it from academicians/lecturers.

The brand-new experience I really got was at the second session. It’s about the mechanism of stock trading in IDX itself. I usually knew it from the book. As usual, accounting textbook in FEB adopted the book from USA or Europe. Sometimes, accounting students know more about SEC and The FED in USA rather than BAPEPAM-LK and BI in their home country. It’s ironic I think, but, that’s the reality, without providing an extra effort to study about financial institutions in Indonesia themselves, students will know nothing about it.

And then continued to the next topic, that was the time for IDX game simulation. Really a brand-new thing for me. We (Akbar and I) were bestowed e-money as initial capital as big as 1.5 billion IDR and seven kinds of stocks having 50 lots respectively. Okay, the game was kicked off, Akbar acted as an executor while I was as recorder of transaction (I didn’t believe in akbar to record it, hehe). First session of trading was very active. Many bids and offers colored the securities infos. This session was finished and closed after the transaction in market ran for thirty minutes, and my team got the fourth place. Wow, awesome, while we did it arbitrarily.

Continued to the second session as the last one. We would fight to raise the rating so that we could achieve higher position. How can? Of course by increasing the amount of Return on Investment (ROI). But, what a pity, the second session was not crowded as the previous one, more empty. The trading was less active. We still tried to be vigilant to the movement of stock. But, everyone was getting more conservative than before. As the consequences, when it’s closed, and then the committee announced the top trader of the game. As I predicted, our position didn’t change. Still, being comfortable at fourth place. Oh God. It’s fine. It didn’t matter, sweet moment for the first experience. And I think I have insufficient talent for this field. There is no intention for me to be a broker in capital market someday. Writing paper is more interesting and profitable. How exciting to write a paper is. Ya Allah, Robbi zidni ‘ilma warzuqni fahma.
